During Rev. C. C. Vaughan's ministry, there was a great revival meeting held in which he did the preaching, and as a result of it, twenty people were baptized and the spiritual life of the church greatly quickened.
In the 1880's, Hebron had only three deacons. They were: Mr. Jonathan Edwards, Mr. Theo Eison, and Mr. Levi W. Smith. They all three served for life, however, Mr. John Jolly moved his membership from Fairview Baptist Church about 1890. He was ordained and Hebron received him as a deacon. Also, about 1898, Mr. T. M. Gregory moved his membership from Lower Fairforest Church as an ordained deacon and was received as a deacon by Hebron. After these had passed on, all except Mr. T. M. Gregory, Hebron was faced with the problem of electing new deacons for the first time in nearly half a century. In the 1920's, Mr. W.H. Hawkins and Mr. J. C. Gregory were elected deacons and ordained. Since then, Hebron has rotated deacons.
One of our own accepted God's call into the ministry. Rev. States W. Jolly was licensed to preach on December 17, 1911 and ordained on December 21, 1913. Mr. Jolly served as pastor of Hebron 1914-1916.
